Which Stra.ai Plan Is Right for You? A Guide to Credits and Pricing Tiers
Every project you run on Stra.ai ( whether subtitles or dubbing ) uses credits. Understanding how credits work and which plan gives you the right amount is the difference between a smooth workflow and hitting a wall mid-project. This guide covers both: how credits are calculated, how to estimate costs before you start, and how to pick the right plan for your workload.
How credits work
Credits are Stra.ai's processing currency. Every minute of video you submit consumes credits — the amount depends on which tool you are using.
AI Subtitles: About 1,200 credits per minute depending on video length and audio complexity.
AI Dubbing: About 3,000 credits per minute depending on video length and audio complexity.
Credits are consumed at the moment you click Create and processing begins , not when you export. If a project fails due to a processing error on Stra.ai's side, your credits are automatically refunded. If you cancel a project yourself mid-process, credits may not be returned.
Your credit balance resets every billing cycle at the start of each month.

Yearly vs. monthly billing
Every paid plan offers a discount for annual billing. The savings range from 11% on Lite up to 16% on Unlimited. If you know you will be using Stra.ai consistently for the next year, the yearly plan is the straightforward choice.
If you are still evaluating the tool or your workload is seasonal, start monthly. You can upgrade or switch to yearly at any time.
How to pick the right plan
Work backwards from your actual monthly video volume.
First, estimate how many minutes of video you process per month. Multiply that by 20 for subtitles or by the dubbing rate for dubbed content. That gives you your monthly credit requirement.
Then match it to the plan that covers that number comfortably — with a small buffer. Running out of credits at the end of the month is more disruptive than paying slightly more for the next tier up.
A practical starting point for most new users is the Standard plan. It gives you enough headroom to experiment with both tools across multiple projects without the cost commitment of Pro.
Where to find your credits and plan
Once you are logged in, click on your profile in the dashboard. Under Settings you will see your current credit balance, how many credits you have used, and your active plan. The upgrade window is right there — you do not need to go to a separate billing page.
